Novel Detector Assembly Facility (NTU)

NTU has allocated two spaces dedicated to the silicon detector R&D. A class 10,000 cleanroom and a general laboratory for detector testing and various electronic tasks. The cleanroom has equipped a few essential pieces of equipment including a programmable robotic gantry, an automatic wirebonder, a precision optical measuring station, etc, allowing us to design and build detectors for different purposes. The lab is set up to test detectors and study the performance. The lab is also equipped with a climate chamber that can perform an aging test through the temperature cycles. NTU also has expertise on photon detectors using PMT and SiPM. In 2021, the collaboration with the Taiwan Consortium of Emergent Crystalline Materials (TCECM) is established to perform LYSO light measurement. This is one of the clients outside HEP for TIDC.
