Machine Shop and
Radiation Test Facility (AS)

AS have been collaborating with the local semiconductor companies to design and produce the silicon sensors. Recently we focused on the novel silicon sensor technologies for timing (LGAD). AS also has expertise on testing the radiation hardness of detectors and electronics since CDF and AMS projects. During the developments of those projects, AS has joined or conducted many radiation tests for materials, electrical components and modules, including the total ionization dose (TID) and single-event-effect (SEE) tests. The experience led to a development of CROSS, 2D pad ionization chamber, particle fluence detector that later had a spin-off company product in medical field for proton beam calibration in the proton therapy. AS owns a machine shop that can produce jigs with good precision.
