Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system in Taipei      Metro Taipei

There are 3 MRT stations within walking distance (15-25 minutes): Taipower Building (Songshan-Xindian Line [green]), Gongguan (Songshan-Xindian Line [green]) and Technology Building (Wenhu Line [brown]).

• Route 1 : MRT Songshan-Xindian (G) Line (to Taipower Building Station)
  After exiting at Exit 2, turn left, go straight along Xinhai Road, cross Xinsheng South Road and enter the campus from NTU Sports Center, walk for about 250 meters to the Drunken Moon Lake, then reach the Astro-Math Building. It’s a 15 minute walk from the station.
• Route 2: MRT Songshan-Xindian (G) Line (to Gongguan Station)
  After exiting at Exit 3, walk north along Roosevelt Road for about 1 minute to the main entrance of NTU, and then via Royal Palm Blvs., follow the map below to Drunken Moon Lake, where the Astro-Math Building is located at the northeast corner of the Lake.  It’s a 15 minute walk from the station.
• Route 3: MRT Wenhu (BR) Line (to Technology Building Station)
  After existing the station, walk along Fuxing South Road, turn right at the entrance of NTU on Xinhai Road, go straight along Xinhai Road, cross the Language Building, and the Astro-Math Building will be the first 14-story building on the left. It’s a 25 minute walk from the station.

Visa

As a foreign passport holder who plans to have a short visit in Taiwan, visa of Taiwan grants visa-free and landing visa. You must hold a valid passport with remaining validity of at least six months as of the date of entry. International Airports     

There are two airports in Northern Taiwan: Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Airport Code: TPE) and Taipei Songshan Airport (Airport Code: TSA). Most international flights land in TPE which is situated 40km (24.8 miles) southwest of Taipei. TSA is a domestic airport in Taipei downtownbut now it has flights between Mainland China, Japan and Korea.

Climate

In Taipei, the summers are hot, oppressive, and overcast; the winters are cool, windy, and partly cloudy; and it is wet year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 14˚C to 34˚C (56°F to 92°F) and is rarely below 10˚C (50°F) or above 36˚C (96°F). Currency & Exchange

The New Taiwan Dollar (NT$) is the currency used in Taiwan. Foreign currency exchange is available at banks and international hotels. Some banks at the International Airport operate 24 hours. Please visit the airport website. The exchange rate changes everyday, please consult the services in the Bank of Taiwan to get the detailed exchange rate.
